Sneezing in Los Angeles

19Jan09

People who live and work in L.A. are often from somewhere else. Another city. Another state. Even another country. It is a strange marriage of geographical civilizations that just seems to work. Except, when it doesn’t.

Today, I walked into an office where a male co-worker was asking two female co-workers not to say “bless you” when he sneezed. Not because he was offended over religion. But, because he was afraid he would offend someone else when he forgot to say “thank you” in return.

He explained that someone blessing him after a sneeze makes him nervous.

“It makes my palms sweaty.”

L.A. is never boring. Especially, when you work with a guy from Jersey.
