Prop 8 Brings Anthrax Scare to Clear Channel

Prop 8’s latest victim? Clear Channel Radio in Los Angeles.

This past Tuesday, California voters approved Proposition 8, banning same-sex marriages. It appears the discriminatory legislation has awakened a giant beast.

Impromptu protests have occurred in Hollywood and West Hollywood. Sit-ins have been staged, reminding many of another turbulent time in American history. There have been arrests. Charges of battery on a police officer. New protests scheduled for Sunset Junction and Downtown L.A.

Now this.

Fellow Metblogs author Lucinda Twittered about an anthrax scare today at the CC building in Burbank. An envelope with an unknown white substance – later found to be baby powder – was reportedly accompanied by anti-Prop 8 propaganda. In her Metblogs post, Lucinda wonders if maybe someone isn’t trying to implicate No on 8.

Whatever comes of this, one thing is certain. The Prop 8 outrage seems to be building at an alarming rate, as if no one really expected it to pass to begin with. It isn’t going away. And the whole thing is Twittering, right before our eyes.
