Theatre Meets Hip-Hop

28Aug07

Might have to check this one out. It’s put on by the Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Downtown Culver City.

When Clifford’s suburban family explodes into divorce and violence, he runs — and finds an unlikely protector in Sir John, a master of the spoken word and aspiring hip-hop producer with a mysterious past. Sir John teaches Clifford to use hip-hop to find his voice — and discovers a talent that just might take the world by storm. As Clifford ascends to stardom as the phenom Clay, his world is turned upside down by a past that won’t let loose. An explosive performance in a rock-and-roll fable featuring an arresting and original hip-hop score.
