One Million Trees

13Aug07

Trees are generally not at the forefront of your mind on Mondays. Work is. And how much you’d rather be doing something else.

But when it hits 95 degrees in the Valley, you tend to notice the lack of cover walking down the street. If you ever get out of your car, that is.

There’s a movement in Los Angeles to re-green the city. Green is the new black. Everybody here likes green. Especially when it comes to paper. The Million Trees Initiative will make life in L.A. more livable. More inviting. More Eco and less Emo.

Mayor Tony Two-Times has made this a priority. He’s also made a priority of a Subway to the Sea, fixing public schools, filling potholes, and finding time to shop in the S.O.

The Million Trees Initiative is a great idea that is long overdue. They’ve been hard at work planting trees in Runyon Canyon. But, what about our streets? Sure has been a while since they’ve had a press release…
